Percentage off is the least useful number on this page

A large percentage is produced by a large gap between list price and promotional price, and the list price is set by the vendor. That makes the percentage a statement about Hostinger's pricing structure, not about how much money leaves your account.

The figure that actually decides whether a plan is worth taking is the total you pay for the term, divided by the months you get. Two plans on this page can show similar percentages and still differ by a factor of three in monthly cost, because they start from different list prices.

Use the percentage to spot where the promotion is deepest, then switch immediately to the money columns to decide. The plan table above gives you both so you do not have to do the arithmetic yourself.

Why longer terms show bigger discounts

The deepest discounts sit on the longest terms, and that is a deliberate structure rather than a coincidence. The promotional price buys a customer for several years at once, and the renewal at standard rate is where the economics balance out for the host.

This is not a reason to avoid long terms. It is a reason to price the whole commitment. A four year term at a heavy discount can be genuinely cheaper per month than paying yearly, provided the project actually lasts that long and you are comfortable paying upfront.

The failure mode is committing four years to a project that will not survive twelve months. Hosting refunds are typically partial and time-limited, so the money is largely spent at the moment you pay. Match the term to your realistic horizon, not to the biggest number.

The discount does not apply to everything in the cart

Checkout totals include more than the plan, and the promotion usually reaches only the plan line. Knowing what falls outside it prevents the most common mismatch between an expected total and the real one.

  • Domain registration, when bundled or added, is priced separately and renews on its own schedule at its own rate.
  • Add-ons such as extra backups, priority support tiers, or additional mailboxes are billed on top and are typically outside the promotional price.
  • Local tax is calculated on the discounted subtotal and added after, so it scales with what you actually pay.
  • Renewal of the plan itself is charged at Hostinger's standard rate once the discounted term ends, which is the largest single cost this page cannot discount for you.
